Located on the western coast of the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal is one of the best countries in Europe to visit due to its mild climate, delicious food and great experiences.

Portugal stretches for almost 500 miles along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Much of the country is a mix of rugged and scenic landscape with rolling stretches of Mediterranean landscape. Since it lies along the coast you will find some beautiful beaches in addition to quaint coves, villages, and a thriving cultural scene.
Have you thought of a food tour of Porto with a private guide? Discover the heart of the city through some of the most delicious food: sink your teeth in a pasteis de nata or try one of the many bacalhau dishes. Besides food, Porto has no shortage of gardens, medieval palaces and ancient cathedrals to explore. Let’s also not forget its famous Port wine: Porto’s stretches of vineyards make up most of the nearby Douro Valley. Want to go for some wine tasting or spend the night in a hotel room housed inside a wine barrel?

What about a private tour of Lisbon? The capital of Portugal continues to be a city that can be explored on a budget and is still one of the most tranquil and affordable capitals in Europe. Visitors can anticipate winding, narrow roads, and breathtaking lookout points. Walking around at night is also something you want to experience! In Alfama, mouthwatering aromas will guide you to cozy restaurants that line in a labyrinth of streets. Don’t miss Chiado, the trendy district with the oldest bookstore in the world, or Bairro Alto, which comes alive at night. Great weather and plenty of sunlight means there’s never a bad time to visit Lisbon.
Located approximately 20 miles from Lisbon, getting to Sintra is easy and makes a great day trip. From the romantic 19th-century Pena Palace to the beautiful Monserrate Palace and medieval Castle of the Moors, the city is a gem that will take you back to a fictional destination like Camelot.

If you travel about 80 miles east of Lisbon, you will find the charming and historically interesting town of Evora, ideal for another day trip. Here you can visit the ruins of the Tempo Romano, dating back to the 2nd or early 3rd century AD, the Bones Chapel, lined with bones and skulls of over 5000 people, and the Se’ cathedral, the town fortress-like medieval cathedral guarded by a pair of rose granite towers and featuring fabulous cloisters and a museum jam-packed with ecclesiastical treasures, dating back to the 12th century.

Moving to the coast, relax and enjoy the sun in Algarve, one of the best places to go to mix warm weather, hiking expeditions, sandy beaches and great seafood.

Portugal also has a range of islands to enjoy, such as Madeira which is known as the Garden Isle for its lush vegetation, or the secluded and serene Azores archipelago.

Wherever you choose to go, Portugal won’t disappoint, and you will be amazed at how much you can pack in when you visit this small but exciting country.
