If you’ve traveled to Italy (or are thinking of doing so) you’ll know that pasta is a must!

Whether it’s for lunch or dinner, in the north or in the south, it doesn’t matter… what matters is that in Italy you can’t miss the opportunity to eat pasta!

Where?

How?

Let us tell you what are the most famous pasta dishes in Italy!

  • pasta al pesto, originally from Liguria, in fact the ingredient is the “Ligurian pesto”

  • Carbonara, together with cacio e pepe and amatriciana, the most famous pastas in Lazio and Rome.

Carbonara and amatriciana are prepared using bacon (not bacon), extra virgin olive oil, pepper, and plenty of pecorino. Then, the eggs are added to the carbonara, while the tomato is added to the matriciana.

Only 2 ingredients for the cacio e pepe: pecorino and pepper.

The secret to making it so creamy? the cooking water!

  • Pizzoccheri, a variety of pasta prepared with buckwheat flour mixed with other flours from Valtellina, seasoned with butter, local cheese, potatoes and cabbage

  • Lasagna, What a delight! a succulent and tasty dish. They are called “Bolognese lasagne” because they contain the typical Bologna ragù

  • Tortellini in brodo, a classic from the wonderful Bologna, here handmade pasta is truly an important tradition

  • Penne alla norma, typical Sicilian recipe, with aubergines and cheese
